Integrated intervention to support the Women’s Employment

The action “Integrated intervention to support female employment by enhancing Entrepreneurship ‘total budget of 40 million. €, which is specialized in two sub-actions, had been announced on 01/18/2013.

The first sub action aims to support entrepreneurship of women aged 18-35 years and the second enhances entrepreneurship of women aged 36-64 years old. The Budget of each sub action is 20 million Euros. The level of funding for each sub-Action is 100%.

The beneficiaries are women aged 18-64 years who are unemployed, have been laid off in the last three years, have closed their individual or personal business during the last three years and they are not employed under an employment contract, they are threatened by unemployment (eg workers in enterprises in work retention or placed under Article 99 during the last three years) or are self-insured by their insurers with income below the income poverty line (6.591 Euro per person and 13,842 euros for households with two adults and two dependent children under 14 years of age).

The program covers operating expenses, insurance contributions of entrepreneur cover annual wage costs due to job creation, the entrepreneur training costs, entrepreneur mentoring costs of consultants etc.
The closing date was 29.03.2013 and the implementation period is 18 months. The Attica (like the regions of Central Greece, South Aegean, Central and Western Macedonia) are not eligible.

 

Strengthening SMEs under the NSRF 2007-2013

The program which is going to support Enterprises operating in Manufacturing – Tourism – Trade – Services had been announced on 01.14.2013 by the Ministry of Development, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks, The budget was EUR 456 mil.

The objective of the action was to support businesses across the country for investments oriented to innovation, the environment and information technology and the direct stimulation of business in crisis conditions. Moreover, the action aimed to create jobs, as support is directed at being established businesses too.

Strengthened existing and new / being established businesses which are classified according to the following:

  • Existing enterprises: enterprises until 31/12/2011 who have two or more approved accounting at least twelve months.
  • New / under establishment enterprises: enterprises that do not fall within that category of existing.

Financed spending on equipment / machinery, buildings, equipment for environmental protection and energy saving, commercial vehicles, software, projection – promotion, certification and consulting services. For new / being established companies also funded operational costs.

The financing rate ranges from 40% to 60% of the total budget of the project (25% for operating expenditure), depending on the region. The total budget of each project varies for processing between 30,000 and 300,000 Euros, for tourism from 20,000 to 200,000 Euros and for trade and services from 20,000 to 100,000 Euros.

The submission of proposals was completed on 05/10/2013.

 

Integrated intervention to support the employment of women through entrepreneurship support

The objective of this action is to subsidize business plans undertaken by unemployed women. The budget amounts to 20 million Euros and involves 1,500 unemployed women

Specifically, the beneficiaries will be unemployed women from 18-35 years old who want to start their own business and have the status of unemployed or entered in the register of the Employment Agency. Emphasis will be given to women who have been laid off in the last three years (2010-2012), to older women, threatened by the risk of unemployment women and women under the special category of disabled women.

This action provides the grant of unemployed women in order to establish new business and create new jobs.

 

Strengthen youth entrepreneurship (second cycle)

The action which has been planned by the Ministry of Development aims to grant new business initiatives with emphasis on goods and high added value services, integrating innovative ideas and environmentally friendly production processes.

The amount of budget reaches 60 million euros, and is expected to benefit 1,600 unemployed young people from 18-35 years old who want to start their own business and who are registered in the register of the Employment Agency. The subsidized program for 2013 includes the grant of unemployed for establishing new business.
